For One Drink:
2 ounces bourbon
3 dashes cardamaom bitters
1 ounce Moroccan simple syrup (recipe follows)
1 Cherry (preferably Moonshine brand whiskey-soaked)
1 orange twist (blood orange, if you're gonna get crazy)
Pour all liquid ingredients into shaker and stir. Pour into a low ball over ice. Garnish with cherry and orange twist.
Repeat (it's Friday, after all!).
For the Moroccan Simple Syrup:
1 knob ginger, sliced
1 cinammon stick broken
1 teaspoon coriander seeds
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
Combine all ingredients in a saucepan, and heat until sugar dissolves. Let sit for about a half hour to let the flavors infuse, then strain into a clean Mason jar. Keep indefinitely in your fridge.
