Service Description
I'm so excited about this partnership with Gather, our local food pantry! Gather will give us some extra produce/product from local farms, grocery stores etc., and we will add necessary pantry items to turn it all into soups, pastas, casseroles and other prepared foods. Then we donate all the finished meals back to the pantry. What your kid will learn: -knife skills -how to make simple dishes without a recipe (quite literally, looking at what he/she has on hand and turning it into dinner!) -minimizing food waste, by using “stem to root” cooking whenever we can -how great it feels to feed people, especially those less fortunate than them Occasionally, we will send home some “samples”, so they can show you their mad skills, but please note these classes do not include dinner for your family. The fee is to pay for supply costs, and we encourage you to also make a donation to Gather to help pay for the Meals for Kids program, which helps feed children in the Seacoast area all summer.
